It is Day 2 and I hope that you are off to a great start. I am excited about what God will do with over 50 of us reading the New Testament during these 8 weeks.
I have been using the book and the audio for total immersion reading. It does help me to keep from distractions. I would encourage you to find the best time for you each day. I find that morning is best for me, at least following coffee! Feel free to explore the time of day that works for you and then try to stay within that range of time. If you happen to miss a day, then catch up on weekends.
I would also encourage you before you begin your reading for the day, to pause in prayer briefly recognizing the Spirit’s presence and ask him to guide your reading. If you have time, use a journal to record your thoughts of that day’s readings–or use a journal once a week in preparation for discussions.
We are not after content mastery as much as responding to the five simple questions:
- What’s something you noticed for the first time?
- What questions did you have?
- Was there anything that bothered you?
- What did you learn about loving God?
- What did you learn about loving others?
Also, the digital materials are available through your bookmark. You can also sign up for daily emails and read and listen to each day’s text online! If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know!
