Jesus came proclaiming that the kingdom of God is near (Mark 1:14-15). But what does that mean? And what does it mean for the church of Jesus to bear witness to this Kingdom? Despite abundant literature on the Kingdom of God, we do not always know how to understand the Kingdom of God in the Bible and how it relates to the Church and the future.
Our fall sermon series will explore a few of the aspects of the biblical theme of the Kingdom of God with a focus on how this Kingdom theology relates to congregational mission and ministry.
In September, we begin with the overall story of the kingdom that will cover the whole storyline of the Bible. This will help us to read our Bibles in a way that we can better understand how the kingdom concept works from Old Testament into the New.
We will explore how the King, Jesus, came into this world, not to make people nice, but to radically change us so that our lives reflect the King himself. The series will continue through October and November. I hope that you will join us each week as we explore how the King can impact our congregation, our lives and our community.
